Information about the:

Hispanic Career Development Roundtable

The "Roundtable" has local members of 18 National Corporate Hispanic initiatives and public/private organizations, which helps the members professional development by providing low cost seminars.

The HCDR is an interesting organization, in that it collects no dues, has no hierarchical structure, and collects no monies. The members are the presidents of the local organizations, there are no power struggles, all members are equal, the only requirement of membership is participation in the events.

These events happen 3-4 times a year, with as many meetings, where a sponsor organization of the event, the topic, professional facilitator and facilities are obtained. The sponsor provides less than $500 to sponsor the event. The sponsor or another organization would donate the facilities for the event. Brochures for the event are printed through a local (Hispanic) printer at cost. The printer and the sponsor are given credit and have their logos on the brochures (all of the member organizations are mentioned on the brochure as well) which are distributed to all of the organizations and to the public (alot of positive public relations for very little monies investment). A local (Hispanic) caterer provides a hot lunch at cost at the event and advertises themselves there. The events are open to the public. Attendees to the event pay $50 for the one day. The facilitator provides a professional workbook for the event.

The monies are handled through a non-profit member organization, and pays for the brochures, the food, and residual money goes to the facilitator, helping to cover the cost of the workbooks (and a few dollars go to tip the caterer). The balance of the account after an event is zero.

Everyone wins through these events. The Roundtable has been in existence since 1993, located in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area, and has been able to help many people who may not have been able to participate in such quality workshops otherwise. Irene Zucker (President of VerbaCom® Executive Development) coordinator and co-founder of the Roundtable can be contacted at 972-386-8372. The Roundtable website is being sponsored and maintained by VerbaCom at http://www.verbacom.com/roundtable/ .  VerbaCom is proud to have been able to donate its time and efforts to such a positive cause benefiting the entire community throughout the years.
